Sturgeon Glue, Cleaned.
Clear transparent sticks. Ready to use.
Nowadays Sturgeon Glue is mainly used for the consolidation in the restoration and conservation field. Traditionally this type of glue was used as a painting medium for illuminated manuscripts, in Sturgeon Glue paintings, for sculpture polychromy or as a bookbinders glue. Making this glue is quite time-consuming. The dried Isinglass is cut into small pieces, soaked in demineralized water, kneaded, melted, filtered and poured onto a surface.
