Fu-nori, Japanese algae glue.

Fu-nori is 100% natural dry seaweed, the red algae Gloiopeltis furcata. 

Funori is 100% natural dry seaweed, the red algae Gloiopeltis furcata. Usually, Funori is very stable. However, sometimes little white spots may occur on the Funori, which seems to be insoluble Funori, resp. insoluble seaweed parts.

Recipe:

•  Put the Funori into a cooking pot

•   Add the water (about 5-10% volume ratio: e.g. 5-10 g funori and 90 cc water)

•   Cook the Funori at low heat to make the glue solution. It’s quite the same as with animal glues

•   Filter the Funori solution through a cloth to remove contamination and insoluble seaweeds

  Glue density depends upon the application.
