APF Canvases, Panels & Boards
Icone & Legno Icon Panels are skillfully crafted wooden panels for artists, available in various sizes and shapes (including circles), unprimed or prepared with a traditional smooth gesso finish,. Produced in Italy using traditional methods.
Also Available are Clairfontaine Canvas Boards, made with a primed cotton stretched over board. Available in various sizes, these are a great economical support for small studies and quick painted sketches.
All our canvases are prepared by hand in our artists' surfaces workshop. Using the best linen and canvas we supply and sized and primed with Lascaux acrylic size and primer, these prepared supports are suitable for working on in any media.
Our sized and primed canvases are prepared with at least two good coats of clear Lascaux Acrylic Size and two coats of Lascaux Acrylic Primer. They are hand stretched, fastened with tacks on quality wooden stretchers.
Please note: we use only the artist quality linens we keep in stock, but the weight of linen may vary from canvas to canvas. If you have specific requirements, please contact us before ordering or consider placing a bespoke canvas order.
Stretched Paper Canvases are made in our workshop using the same wooden stretchers as our Handmade Canvases, and Saunders Waterford 300gsm watercolour paper. The paper is wet-stretched over the stretcher to give a painting support that offers the unique qualities of working on paper while offering the feel and ease of display of working on a canvas.
